Sharing of God's Word
5/18/09
0 hugs Yup, its true. I will share to you the homily of today's mass. It's good to share God's words right? :) And in fact, it's an interesting homily.
So, the Gospel for today's Sunday Mass was from the book of St. John chapter 15:1-8
It was actually about LOVE. Interesting right? The priest started with the sentence "Love for romance is the most shallow kind of love". Its like, when you see a girl/guy that you like, there's a "kilig factor" right? And that's what the priest said. Love is not about just a simple "kilig factor". He stated the 3 concepts of love.
1. Love must be willing to sacrifice: In love, you must be willing to sacrifice. You must be willing to sacrifice the things you really want to someone you love. He said too that you must be willing to die for that person.
2. Love must always be universal, all embracing: You must love all the people around you. Also those who are not worthy of your love. Its no that, she is your friend, she is your relative, or she is your special someone. As God says, "Love one another as I love you". God loves everyone even those who are not worthy of it. We must be like God too. Let's love everyone. Love your family, friends, and even your enemies. :)
3. Love must always be concrete: Just a simple explanation to this. If you love a person, show it. It is not enough that you say "I love you". You must also show it into your actions.
So, that's the 3 concept of love. And before the homily ends, he said "God's words are not theory. They are COMMANDMENTS".
That's what I want to share to all of you. Some reflection about the homily a while ago :). I hope you were inspired of what i post. We must be thankful to God for He had given us more than what we've expected. :)
Btw, I just made a "fansign" to Seto Koji(my love*LOL*) for his birthday. I hope he will like and appreciate it. Here's the fansign..
